Santa Margherita di Pula

It is one of the most beautiful coasts of southern Sardinia, a few tens of kilometers from Cagliari, but far from crowded beaches, tension and stress, an oasis for calm and relaxing holidays. Almost ten kilometers of soft and golden sand that plunges into shallow and warm waters with green hues, with a seabed so clear that you can observe it perfectly even without diving. Santa Margherita is a pearl of southern Sardinia, a symbol of Pula, which extends westwards to another island marvel, the coast of Chia (in the territory of Domus de Maria). Santa Margherita di Pula is made up of a series of bays and beaches, almost without interruption, interspersed with the rocks of small promontories, which take on different names (including Cala Marina and Cala Bernardini) depending on the area they occupy and where they overlook numerous luxury resorts, among the most renowned on the island and visited each year by personalities from the entertainment industry, cinema, sport and high finance. You will be able to access the beaches along narrow streets that flank the hotels or that pass through the pine forests behind them, where condominiums, villas and holiday apartments are immersed. You will discover unforgettable places, coves with strips of very white and fine sand, with flashes of pink granite, and among the pine trees you will be able to protect yourself from the summer heat. The area is windswept and loved by surfers even in autumn and winter. Its seabed is appreciated by those who practice snorkelling or underwater fishing. A few steps from Santa Margherita is Pulese nightlife, made up of many events and aperitifs in Piazza del Popolo and Piazza di Chiesa, to be combined with long walks and lots of sporting activity. For example, you can jog along the tree-lined avenues that lead to Nora, where, not far from the beach, you will discover the ancient Phoenician-Punic and then Roman city. To the east of the archaeological park of Nora, the beach and the church of Sant'Efisio, there is the beach of su Guventeddu, much appreciated by kite surfing and wind surfing enthusiasts. To keep fit by immersing yourself in nature, you can continue your journey by finding the Nora lagoon nearby. Marvel at the system of canals and small islands created by the delta of the Rio Arrieras, which is home to lush Mediterranean vegetation and many species of birds.
